The current lot owner will need to contact Woodlawn in writing if they wish to sell or transfer burial rights. Please send a letter to Woodlawn Cemetery, Attn: Repurchases. The resale of burial rights is regulated by the New York State Cemetery Board. In accordance with New York State Cemetery Law, the cemetery has the right of first refusal. The cemetery may choose to make a repurchase offer or may decline. Depending on circumstances, the current owner may have the right to sell to a third party, once the appropriate approval has been obtained by the New York State Division of Cemeteries.
